Adeniyi is a senior manager and lead for innovation within Childline, which is the 24hours, confidential, online and telephone help service for Children and young people delivered by the NSPCC. Adeniyi also has senior management responsibility for Childline bases in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Belfast and Liverpool as well as the Childline Contact management team, having worked with Childline for 15 years.
Prior to joining the NSPCC, Adeniyi worked as a social worker in Lagos State Civil Service in Nigeria in the Directorate for Youth and Social Development. Adeniyi worked in different roles within Children and Families field and casework and Youth Criminal Justice and Probation; carrying out the investigation of child protection issues in families where there were concerns about a child’s developmental needs, wellbeing, and safety; supporting police investigations into reports of domestic violence and abuse, facilitating family mediation sessions and family case conferences as well as supporting compliance and designing and delivering appropriate intervention programmes to assist reparation, rehabilitation and reintegration of youth offenders.
Adeniyi qualified as a Person Centred Counsellor from University of Aberdeen in 2015 and is a member of the RAF reserves.
